All the events of the Christmas period 2024 in Montepulciano

In addition to the Christmas initiatives in Montepulciano and the ice skating rink set up at the Poggiofanti Garden (link), many cultural activities, concerts and events are planned for the holidays. Here is an initial list of the main initiatives:

Sunday, November 17, the “Poggi e Buche – Cycletour” will be held in Montepulciano, two routes that will touch the Val d’Orcia and Valdichiana Senese, starting and finishing in the Poliziana city, during the first weekend of the Christmas Markets. Friday, November 22, at 5 pm, inauguration of the exhibition “La grande illusione” at the Museo Civico Pinacoteca Crociani. A surprising exhibition by the Lecco artist Nicolò Tomaini who explores the relationship between technology and contemporary meaning. The exhibition will last until February 3, 2025.

Sunday, November 24, 5:00 p.m., at the Crypt of the Church of the Gesù, “Concert of St. Cecilia: 100 of these Puccini”, organized by the Henze Music Institute (free admission). The usual Concert of St. Cecilia is dedicated this year to the masterpieces of the composer Giacomo Puccini.

Thursday, November 28, at 9:15 p.m., at the multipurpose hall of the Ex Macelli, theatrical show “NORMAL – The Abnormality of Good and the Normality of Evil”, staged by the APS ARTEdaPARTE, on the occasion of the international day of violence against women on November 25.

Sunday, December 15, at 5:00 p.m., at the Church of the Gesù, the traditional “Christmas Concert” will be held with the Poliziana Orchestra and the Poliziana Choir conducted by Alessio Tiezzi, curated by the H. W. Henze Institute and the Cantiere Foundation. On this occasion, the “Right to Music” award will be given.

Sunday, December 15, 9:15 p.m., opening of the theater season at the Ex Macelli multipurpose hall, with “Dioggene” written and directed by Giacomo Battiato, with Stefano Fresi. An actor particularly well-known for his roles in film and TV, Stefano Fresi presents a text that combines humor and introspection.

Tuesday, December 17, 9:15 p.m., at the Ex Macelli multipurpose hall, Gospel concert with the group “Pastor Ron and the Gospel Show” curated by Officine della Cultura (free admission)
